May first and the sun is shining, the temp's in the 40's, the land is thawing-spring is in the air. The military is in town and moving back and forth between the villages by helicopter. I went to the fire hall as Patty and Cathy were in Anchorage and I had no commitments. While there we got a tone out to pick up two patients being brought in by medevac. It was a beautiful day for a drive.
May second and it looks like it's shaping up to be a busy month. This morning I saw geese flying-the first of the migrating waterfowl. We also saw a number of helicopters as the military is in town. I went out on the ice in front of town with Debbie a fellow nurse, and John her husband who works in pharmacy. We caught eight sheefish in about an hour and since each fish weighed over ten pounds, we decided to call it a day. Now I have to clean them.......
Mothers day Patty and I took a ride and we were able to get onto the beach for the first time. Campfires and smores won't be far behind.
Cathy graduated from Certified Nursing Assistant school and the ceremony was on May 12th.
