Our new house in Anchorage.

The act of sale went through on the house in Anchorage and we went down there for one week at the beginning of June.  Christy and Shawn live there and at present we have no plans to move there anytime soon.  We worked hard the whole time planting plants, installing ceiling fans, unpacking belongings and finding places for them, framing and hanging pictures, shopping to make it comfortable, and decorating.

The house is an 1800 square foot,  two story, two and a half bath affair with inside steps leading down into the garage (3 story?)  It has a gas/wood fireplace and in back a large deck and storage building.  It is on a cul-de-sac in a quiet, very nice neighborhood on the south side of Anchorage not far from Turnagain Arm.  It is also located on the side of a gently sloping hill.  There are moose droppings on both sides of the house.

We hated to come home but both of us fell asleep right after unpacking and lounged away the rest of the day.

While in Anchorage we made a trip to the dump which was about a 20 minute ride down the Kenai peninsula and was set in a beautiful valley (Alaska is a tough place to live). Of course we also went to the bulk stores.
