June

Spring is finally here and most of the snow is gone.  Flowers are rapidly appearing and the bird population grows.  The smell of the Labrador tea out on the tundra is a smell that should be bottled so all could experience it.  It is good to be able to get out down the beach and spend a quiet evening fishing or just gazing at the sites and listening to the surf.

Life is good.

The weekend of the 19th and 20th were what is called in the south bluebird days.  Temps in the mid 60's with a light breeze to keep most of the mosquitoes off.  It was partly cloudy but there was still enough sun for me to get a bit of a tan (I was in shirtsleeves the whole time.

Saturday there was an award banquet at the fire hall with the usual steaks on the grill.

On Sunday Patty and I took a long ride down the beach, built and enjoyed a driftwood fire, enjoyed the sights and sounds of the sea, the migratory birds, and the tundra in bloom.

Sunday, June 27th and another beautiful day.  We took a leisurely ride to Cape Blossom and back stopping to talk, listen to the surf, take pictures, and soak up the sun.

June 29th and summer weather continues.  The temps got as high as 84 degrees prompting me to take a plunge into the chilly waters of the arctic.
