September 2004

Fall is here and the tundra is brown.  The cranberries are ripe for the picking.   We are having frost almost daily and since we now have complete darkness at night, the Aurora Borealis has reappeared.  The Aurora is elusive to the camera lens and so far I have be unable to capture any good shots, but I have faith it will happen.

The Northern Lights have been out but still elude the camera lens.  We ventured out on a sunny, cool Saturday in mid September to get away for a bit.  We got into a good patch of cranberries.  The berry picking while taking in the fragrance of the Labrador tea and listing to the gentle sounds of the surf, makes for serenity that's hard to find anywhere else.

Winter is rapidly approaching as the town is dusted by the first snowfalls and the back bays are freezing up.
