March 2006 (Updated 4/16/06)

It has warmed a little with the temps staying around zero.  However the wind has been blowing in the 15mph and higher range daily making for really cold days.  We did brave it this Sunday however.

I had to go to Fairbanks for business purposes in early March and while I was there they were having their annual Ice Festival.  The blocks of ice they are carved from are cut from a pond in the park where the Festival is held. The blocks weigh in the tons and there are many different categories. The intricacy of most of the sculptures were amazing and since the temps stay well below freezing this time of year, the sculptures will last until thaw sometime in April or May.

Patty and I flew to Anchorage for two weeks at the end of March. I had a CHAP training seminar and she was doing recruiting at a nursing seminar.  We did not take many pictures but I did take some interesting ones on the flight down.

Just a couple more.
