In July I traveled to the village of Kivalina which is about 50 miles north of Kotzebue and is located on the coast. While there one of the CHP's husbands took my boss Herman and I fishing. Herman caught one whitefish and I scored zero.
July was a busy month and we traveled to the Kobuk Clinic for the opening of the new clinic. This is probably the smallest village we have with just around 90 people living along the shore of the Kobuk River.
It is probably the prettiest too!
We also traveled to Noorvik in this busy month and my son-in-law Gary who has family there came along. This is probably our biggest village with close to 1000 people living there.
There was a region wide baseball tournament going on in town and we volunteered to help. Many kids came in by plane but most traveled in by boat.
