Hey ,

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I think it's pretty cool to be able to have the opportunity to fly over a part of the country that most will never get to see.  We have to have a bag packed at all times with our own survival gear in it.  After all this is Alaska, the land where if caught out in the wild they say "you tend to be at the bottom of the food chain".  The plane is a twin engine super king air-just can't remember who makes it.  As far as time to sleep, yea we get our 7-8 hours a night. Just never know when its night as right now the sun just circles the horizon. We do have room darkening shades but believe it or not we keep a window open every night so as to not get to hot so we don't close them all the way. I swear that's the truth!  Today is June fifth and the outside temp is 68 degrees as I write at 9pm. Just two days ago there was frost on the ground and earlier in the week the stores were out of milk and we got the Sunday paper Wednesday because the planes were not flying due to ice fog-warmer air hitting the part of the sound that was still frozen. Temps were still in the 30's and 40's.  Yesterday we took a couple of nurses who were in for 4 days auditing for a ride out of town on the 4 wheelers. There are now a tremendous amount of waterfowl and birds all over we cannot identify and we saw our first seals out on the part of the sound that is still frozen.

It's really a great experience being here.  I found out today I may be sent to Nome for some training.  We are never too old and anyone can chase a dream-why not? Life is to short so live it!  I have tried to instill in my kids that there is no difference between the person next to me and myself. We all put our pants on the same way etc. so if you have a dream, never believe it is not achievable.

It's good to hear from you. I like knowing that maybe I'm not boring the pants of someone.  Tell everyone Hi!
