Hey again,

I know I just sent a pretty lengthy email, but the need arose in me to kind of follow up on the last letter.

They still have not found the body of the boat operator I told about in my last email.  I did attend a service held in one of the local churches Monday afternoon for the woman who died in the accident.  There had to be 500 or more people packed into this little chapel.  Before the service everyone lined up outside and the wait to get in was about 15 minutes as people signed a guest book and got a handout on the life of the deceased.  The temp was about five below zero with the wind blowing about 20 mph with a light snow.  It was a humbling experience seeing all these people, many dressed in their traditional garb and of all ages coming to pay their respects.  As most have converted to Christianity there was a lot of local singers singing Christian tunes. This lady and her family are highly respected in this community and it was a great loss locally.  The temps have gradually increased since the low of minus 13 on Sunday to the current temp at 9pm on Thursday of 22 above.  The wind however has been blowing no less than 20-25 mph since Monday.  The snow increased yesterday and right now we are in the midst of out first blizzard of the year.  The wind has to be in the 40-50 mph range right now with blowing snow.  This has been going on since about 10am.  I had to leave my 4 wheeler at the hospital and even though we live only about 100 yards behind the hospital, it took me about 10 mins to get home on foot.  I was literally wading in snow drifts up to the middle of my thighs.  As I type this the building is shaking from the onslaught.  It is predicted to continue into tomorrow and then the locals say, that will be it, that it will clear.  I was told today that this always happens after a tragedy such as I described in my last letter.  After the service is held for the one lost, there is always a big storm that comes to clear away all tracks and traces of the deceased.  It is a way of clearing the air and heralding a new beginning.

Just thought you might be interested.
